Book Cover Creation. Photoshop

Today, I will create my chapbook cover. For it, I opened a Photoshop on a university PC. Then, I pressed round blue button New file to create a new project. For my new document I need to custom an orientation and choose a background. First, I pressed on a Clickboard. Then, I set a height on 800px, portrait mode, Resolution on 72 px/inch and chose White Background. Also ,I named my project Chap Book Cover.

Now I need to find a front picture for my cover. I use an Unsplash, so I can download the copyright pictures for free. My book is a detective and one of the main roles in this detective will play a fluffy ginger cat. So, I decided, that a cat should definetely be on my front cover( first, who don`t like cats?, second, Ginger colour will 100% attract the readers)

By pressing the button Import Image under the white sheet, I will add a picture of my cat to my project. It appears in the other window, so I can easily edit it. In settings I changed a Saturation for +31(in colour), and Sharpening for +10(in Detail). Then, the final edited picture, I added on my project and set as a background.

After choosing a picture, we need to add a title and a name of the author(ME) on front cover. As was mentioned before, this is a detective book, so the style of letter should be appropriate.

By clicking on a small T button on the left panel, I added the title. Then I changed the colour by using color change to light red. To change the size of my title to 60px. Also, the font I used called Rockwell Extra Bold.
The same I did with the bottom text, the name of the author. I added the text, using T letter on the left panel, then changed the colour to black, using the same font as previously.

And here is my approximate result for my book cover.
